Timothy Welch – Mt Barker Taxi Driver wins year’s top Taxi Driver Award.
In its 18th year, Timothy Welch took out the top honour of the 2021 Taxi Driver of the Year.
The Award sponsored by Cabcharge and the Taxi Council SA is incorporated with the prestigious SA Tourism Awards and Tim learnt of his win at last night’s Gala Dinner.
Tim was previously in banking and his interest in driving was sparked by observation and an ‘I like the look of that job’ attitude.
He believes in the taxi industry and the great job it does. Going above and beyond for his customers, he clearly loves the interaction and the privilege of helping them to get around each day. He takes his job seriously but accompanies it with a sense of humour. Tim has set the bar high.
Always thinking of others, when accepting his award he didn’t forget to thank the tourism and hospitality industries stating that without them, the taxi industry’s job would be that much harder.
Tim has demonstrated why he deserves to be the Taxi Driver of the Year 2021 and the Mt Barker community can lay claim to him.
